Stepping Into Success - NCNW Shoe Drive

A HUGE thank you to the National Council of Negro Women (NCNW) - Washington Section for their incredible donation of professional shoes!

While we have been receiving plenty of clothing donations, one area in which we began to notice a decline was in regards to professional shoes, specifically in the larger sizes. That’s when SFC Board Member, Diedra Yates, reached out to her friends at the NCNW Washington.

With their mission of empowering and advocating for women of African descent, their families, and communities, NCNW hit the ground running to collect shoes for our clients.

After running a successful shoe drive for the entire month of March, the NCNW leadership team arrived at the SFC boutique with 358 pairs of shoes for our clients!

In addition to their generous donation of professional shoes, NCNW also donated funds and dry-cleaned clothing to further support the clients at SFC. We are so grateful for NCNW’s support in our mission as we continue to empower the women in our community. Thank you!

Our shoe wall is now going to be completely full!
