Thank you to Junior League of Washington for hosting us on your "Community Conversations" series. We loved the opportunity to talk with Ellen Carmichael Gugenberger, Resources Volunteer at JLW, and spread awareness of the critical services needed for many women in the DC Metro area.
When everything turned virtual last March, Suited for Change made the pandemic pivot to ensure our vital services would continue. During Covid-19’s height, we began reaching out to former clients to offer them virtual coaching. Through the help of our volunteer coaches, our clients have been able to hone their job preparation skills as they search for work.
Heading into the new year, we have dubbed 2021 the "Year of Community." As a result of social distancing, a large portion of Americans have been struggling with isolation, especially our clients. To combat this problem, we decided to expand our services to include virtual suiting experience . During the first quarter of the year we reached out to former clients to check in and offer them their own version of ‘Stitch-Fix.’
Each virtual suiting is tailored to the client’s current needs and style preferences, wrapped up in tissue, and topped with a note of encouragement from one of our volunteers. In times like these, it is the little things that matter most.
We are so grateful to the Junior League of Washington for their continued support and honored to receive their 2021 Winter Opportunity Grant. Thank you JLW!
